Motorcycle Parts – OEM Or Aftermarket?
By Daniel Levy

Sometimes I buy OEM, others aftermarket motorcycle parts.
What a heck are OEM parts?
OEM parts stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer parts which not necessarily mean the OM (Original Manufacturer) actually produced them. Good to know when buying OEM Motorcycle Parts:
When you buy OEM Motorcycle Parts you are buying the exact same original part the manufacturer used to build your motorcycle, that means:
Same performance as the part installed in your motorcycle right now. Normally OEM parts a more (in some cases MUCH more) expensive than aftermarket parts.
What about Aftermarket parts?
Aftermarket parts should perform as well as OEM parts but are produced by companies other than the original manufacturer(s).
Things to know when buying Aftermarket Motorcycle Parts:
Equivalent aftermarket Suzuki motorcycle parts are normally cheaper than OEM parts. When buying aftermarket parts make sure you are getting AT LEAST the same quality as the OEM part. OEM or aftermarket motorcycle parts, sooner or later you will be shopping for them…

Motorcycle Parts
By Jimmy Sturo

Motorcycles are two-wheeled vehicles equipped with an engine. When driven at a high speed, the vehicle stands upright and stable; when driven at a lower speed, a continuous readjustment needs to be made to provide stability to the rider and the cycle. This land-based machine consists of various parts: chassis, fuel tanks, suspension, brakes, engine, transmission, and tires.
Chassis
The chassis is more commonly known as the frame. It is usually made of aluminum, steel or alloy, although customized carbon-fiber ones are also available
Fuel Tank
Manufacturers usually create a hollow frame in the chassis for fuel tanks although external frames are used for the oil reservoir.
Suspension
The front suspension plays an integral part in controlling the steering of the machine, while the back suspension supports the swingarm.
Brakes
Front brakes are generally more powerful. Most of the motorcycles nowadays are built with anti-lock breaking systems.
Engine
Motorcycles have gasoline-powered engines.
Transmission
The transmission is controlled by a clutch lever installed on one of the handles, usually the left-hand side. The gear lever is a foot pedal on the left side of the motorcycle
Tires
The tire is the part of the motorcycle that comes in full contact with the road. There are different types of tires for different bikes and different surfaces. Some tires have a different gripping effect on surfaces.
